Matt Rakowich
Managing Director & Founder
Matt Rakowich is the Managing Director and Founder of RAK Realty Group. As a Denver native, Matt brings a deep understanding of both the real estate industry and the communities he serves, leveraging his extensive experience in commercial real estate finance, brokerage, and client relationship management.

Prior to founding RAK Realty Group, Matt served as Senior Vice President at U.S. Bank in Los Angeles, CA, where he sourced loan originations and managed a portfolio exceeding $700 million in project-level term loans, subscription lines, and fund facilities. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Analyst and Relationship Manager at Wells Fargo Bank, executing over $1.1 billion in loan originations and managing a $2 billion commercial real estate loan portfolio. Additionally, Matt worked at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Chicago, IL, specializing in industrial brokerage, where he advised clients on the leasing, purchasing, and disposition of industrial assets.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management with a Real Estate option from The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business. He has also completed several advanced real estate programs, including UCLA Extension’s Real Estate Investment courses, ARGUS certification, and the Wells Fargo Financial Analyst Training Program.
In addition to his professional experience, Matt is an active member of NAIOP and a 2024 graduate of the NAIOP Young Professionals Group, a program focused on leadership and industry development within real estate.

Walter C. Rakowich is the former CEO of Prologis, a NYSE company and a member of the S&P 500. Prologis is a leading provider of distribution facilities and services with over $150 billion in assets and operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Mr. Rakowich was CEO of Prologis from November 2008 through June 2011 and co-CEO from June 2011 through December 2012 following a merger with AMB Corp. He was a member of the Prologis board of directors from January 2005 through December 2012.
Prior to becoming CEO, Mr. Rakowich was the president and chief operating officer of Prologis from January 2005 through November 2008. He joined Prologis in 1993. From December 1998 to January 2005, he served as managing director and chief financial officer for Prologis. Prior to this position, Mr. Rakowich was the senior vice president and director of the company’s Mid-Atlantic region where he was responsible for expanding the reach of Prologis to the leading logistics markets in the Midwest and Atlantic states.
Prior to joining Prologis, Mr. Rakowich spent nine years as a partner and principal with real estate developer Trammell Crow Company in Los Angeles. Before that, he was a senior audit and tax consultant for Price Waterhouse in Pittsburgh. Mr. Rakowich received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his bachelor’s degree with distinction in accounting from the Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Rakowich currently serves on the board of directors of Host Hotels & Resorts, where he is the company's audit committee chairman and member of the governance committee; Iron Mountain Inc., where he is chairman of the audit committee and member of the governance and investment committees; and Ventas Inc., where he is chairman of the audit committee and a member of the investment committee. All three are companies listed in the S&P 500. He also serves on the advisory council of Gender Fair. He has served as a member of the executive committee and the board of governors for the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), the primary industry group for REITs in the United States.
The Pennsylvania State University appointed Mr. Rakowich to its board of trustees in 2014, and he served as chairman of the board's audit and risk committee. He was granted emeritus status upon his retirement in 2023. In 2010, the Penn State Alumni Association named Mr. Rakowich a Penn State Alumni Fellow, a lifetime designation and the highest award given by the association, recognizing outstanding professional achievement. He also has served on the real estate advisory boards of the Smeal College of Business at Penn State, the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. In addition, he served on the Global Leadership Council at Colorado State University.
Mr. Rakowich currently serves as chairman of the board of Colorado UpLift and is a member of the board of the Alliance for School Choice in Education (ACE), two non-profits focused on educating at-risk children in the inner city. Mr. Rakowich has made several appearances on CNBC, CNN, Fox, Bloomberg and National Public Radio and has been quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Institutional Investor and Forbes magazine, on behalf of the real estate industry and Prologis. He is the author of Transfluence: How to Lead with Transformative Influence in Today's Climates of Change (Post Hill Press, September 2020).

Chris Manley received his master’s degree in professional accounting and bachelor's degree from the University of Texas in Austin. Upon graduating, Chris received the highest score in the State of Colorado's May 1993 CPA exam, and his score ranked within the top 100 in the nation. Chris grew up in Denver, Colorado. Most recenlty, Chris was a founder of Five Senses Hospitality Management, a Denver based hotel owner and operator. Prior to a merger in 2025 with Crestline Hotels and Resorts, Chris has grown Five Senses management platform to managing 14 properties (Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt brands) with over 5255 team members.
From 2015 to 2020, Chris was Stonebridge Companies’ Chief Operating Officer. Stonebridge is one of the premier hospitality development and management companies in the United States. Stonebridge’s portfolio included 63 hotels with over 11,000 guest rooms and 3,200+ employees. Chris is a a past board member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), the sole national association representing all segments of the U.S. lodging industry. He serves on Marriott’s franchise advisory committee for the Aloft brand, and he has served on similar committees for Marriott’s Renaissance and Hilton’s Homewood Suites brands.
Prior to joining Stonebridge Companies, Chris spent 15 years as CFO for The Pauls Corporation, a real estate investor developer across multiple asset classes in the US and Canada.
